USA: Heineken USA promises minimum $250,000 to hurricane Katrina relief efforts
Heineken USA Inc. said on September 2 that it has committed at least $250,000 to Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. These funds represent a joint contribution by Heineken USA and its parent company, Heineken International (Netherlands). These funds will be used to assist in meeting the immediate and longer-term needs of its own employees, those of our distributors and their respective families in Louisiana and Mississippi who have been impacted by the Hurricane. The remaining funds will be donated to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief effort.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of this unprecedented natural disaster," said Frans van der Minne, President and CEO, Heineken USA. "Heineken USA and its employees have consistently demonstrated their generosity and commitment to helping those in need. We are hopeful that our contribution will be of assistance to at least some of those who are in great need of help".
